Well considering the semiconductor technology, it is or was only a matter of time before the bright light/no light tube was made. After all we have the auto welding screen, and then the NV stuff so why not blend the two ideas into one window? It will be interesting to see what it is like. I noticed you can see hot objects with a good gen 3, that you can't see with the naked eye, like a stove burner that is still hot but not glowing. Turn on the gen 3 and it is like a light bulb. Or campfire that is "out" is still burning bright to the NVG.
