The RAZ-IR MAX-SL thermal imager is designed to give you MAXimum value for your thermal imaging dollar. Most low cost infrared cameras sacrifice important features in order to trick you into buying the more expensive model. Usually, the manufacturer will disable key usability options on their entry level model only to charge you significant upgrade charges to get the next level of camera that has these features installed. The truth is these features cost the manufacturers almost ZERO to “install”. For example, many entry level cameras have sensors with fractional pixel resolutions (60×60, 80×80, 120×80, etc.). You need to upgrade to the next level camera to get the “full 160×120” resolution sensor. The truth is that most of these imagers already have a 160×120 pixel sensor and the manufacturer “dumbs” them down with a software switch. The same goes for the slow infrared cameras out there. You have seen them. The ones with 7hz or 9hz refresh rate. The ones that look like choppy time lapse video. Once again they artificially dumb down theses refresh rates to get you to buy an “upgraded” model.

With the MAX-SL you get a full resolution imaging sensor at 160×120 pixels operating at super fast 60hz refresh rate. No ghosting here! But that alone is not MAXimum value. We also include an expanding temperature range to 250C. Not to mention we also include removable image storage on standard SD Cards instead of built in storage that limits your capacity (the unit comes with a 2GB SD CARD to get you started). As much as we love our customers we don’t want you to be tied down to us for expensive proprietary batteries or even worse non removable internal batteries. The MAX-SL operates on standard rechargeable AA batteries so you can run all day long (and yes batteries ARE INCLUDED). MAX-SL means NO COMPROMISE!
