RAZ-IR Pro & NANO Camera Driver & Software Installation Instructions for Windows 8 & 8.1

Using the RAZ-IR camera & software with Windows 8 requires an easy fix.  Since Windows 8 has “driver signing” on by default, usually a user with administrative rights has to complete the task.

*NOTE*  If you’ve already tried installing this without reading this, you’ll have to go to “Uninstall Programs” applet and uninstall both the driver & software.

First, you’ll need to disable driver signing (For detailed screenshots, click here for an easy to follow article)
  1. Press the Windows key + C to bring up the “Charms bar”
  2. Click “Change PC settings”
  3. The modern control panel opens.  Choose “update & recovery”
  4. Click “Recovery” on the left hand side
  5. Click “restart Now” under Advanced Startup
  6. The computer will reboot
  7. After the PC comes back up, choose “Troubleshoot”
  8. Click “Advanced Options”
  9. Click “Startup Settings”
  10. A list will appear with option. Choose restart.
  11. When “Startup Settings” comes up afterward, hit F7 for “Disable driver signature enforcement”
  12. The PC will reboot, and from there you will be able to install the RAZ-IR driver
Now you can install the RAZ-IR Pro/NANO M4 Device driver
  1. One the PC starts up again, unzip the RAZ-IR Pro SX (M4 device) Driver to your desktop. (DO NOT plug the device in yet). Located: https://www.x20.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/M4-driver.zip
  2. Open up device manager
  3. Power the RAZ-IR Pro or NANO camera on
  4. Plug the USB from the RAZ-IR camera into the PC
  5. In device manager, a yellow exclamation point will appear in the USB area for the M4 device
  6. Right click the M4 device in device manager, choose “update driver”
  7. Choose the option to navigate to the folder where the driver was unzipped
  8. Install the driver from that location
Now you can install the RAZ-IR Pro Analyzer Software
  1. Unzip the Analyzer software to your desktop.  Located at:  https://www.x20.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/SPI_0316.zip
  2. Install the software (accept defaults)
